🎉 Did you see my second book launched?! 🎉

My New Book — The Art of Being Pleasantly Persistent

Dear friends, colleagues, leaders, and everyday humans who keep running into friction—

Today is my birthday 🥳 And instead of candles or cake requests, I’m doing something a little different.

I’m releasing a book I wrote for you.

Not “you” as in corporate executive only. Not “you” as in people who already have it figured out.

You as in:
✨ the person who keeps hearing “no”
✨ the person who feels stuck but doesn’t want to be pushy
✨ the person who’s trying to move forward without burning bridges
✨ the person who just wants a better way through

The Art of Being Pleasantly Persistent is officially published today. 🎉📘
And yes — you can absolutely consider buying it as a birthday present to me.

🎁 Highly encouraged.
😄 Zero pressure.
😏 (Okay, a little pressure.)

Most of us were never taught what to do after “no.”

We’re taught to:

• push harder
• prove more
• explain ourselves again
• or quietly back off so we don’t seem difficult

And none of those actually work.

Here’s what I learned — in advocacy, leadership, healthcare, business, and life:

Persistence isn’t pressure. And “pleasant” isn’t passive.

It’s strategy.
It’s timing.
It’s understanding how people — and brains — actually work.

So I wrote the book I wish I’d had earlier.
The one that says:

🧠 You don’t need to bulldoze
🧠 You don’t need to disappear
🧠 You do need better tools

Quick science, zero boredom:

When we hear “no,” the brain doesn’t treat it like neutral information.
It treats it like a threat.

🔬 The brain’s threat system lights up
🔬 Stress chemistry spikes
🔬 Creativity and problem-solving drop
🔬 And suddenly everything feels heavier than it needs to

That’s why rejection feels physical.
That’s why people either push too hard… or shut down completely.

Pleasant persistence works because it calms the threat response and activates the brain’s reward and motivation systems instead.

Tiny wins = dopamine
Curiosity = safety
Warmth + timing = momentum

This book shows you how to stay in the game without exhausting your nervous system or everyone around you.

The Art of Being Pleasantly Persistent is not a motivational pep talk wrapped in inspirational glitter.

It is:
✨ a practical, funny, neuroscience-backed playbook
✨ built for real life, real work, and real resistance
✨ useful whether you’re leading a team or advocating for yourself

Inside, you’ll learn how to:

🧩 reframe “no” as information, not rejection
🎯 make asks people actually want to say yes to
🔁 build momentum through small, strategic wins
🧠 persist without burnout, resentment, or self-doubt

This isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about moving smarter.

If you:
➡️ lead people
➡️ influence decisions
➡️ navigate bureaucracy
➡️ negotiate raises, resources, or relationships
➡️ advocate for yourself or others
➡️ or just keep running into invisible walls

…this book is for you.

The same tools that help someone fight an insurance denial apply to:
🏢 leadership conversations
🏢 organizational resistance
🏢 culture change
🏢 negotiations
🏢 everyday “how do I get unstuck” moments

Persistence is a life skill — not just a leadership one.

And yes, many of my keynote clients will recognize these stories and tools.

This book just lets them live on your nightstand, not just on a stage.

If my writing has ever:
✨ made you laugh
✨ helped you think differently
✨ made you feel less alone
✨ or helped you move forward

I didn’t write this book because persistence is easy.

I wrote it because doing it badly costs people confidence, energy, and opportunity.

This is the art of staying in the game without losing yourself.

Thank you for celebrating this moment with me — and for being part of a community that believes there’s a smarter, more human way forward.

With gratitude, humor, and genuine excitement about this book,

Ali
